Vincent van Duysen was born in Lokeren, Belgium, in 1962. After earning a degree from the Sint-Lucas School of Architecture, he worked in Milan with Aldo Cibic and in Antwerp (Belgium) with Jean De Meulder. In 1989 he founded the firm Vincent Van Duysen Architects; nowadays his works range from product design for international brands to commercial and large-scale architectural projects. In his works there is a deep relationship between interior design and architecture, expressed in a careful perception of the interior space and his relation with the external architecture. During his career, Van Duysen has received multiple awards among which the recent Flemish Culture Prize for Design, Belgian Designer of the Year and the Henry van de Velde Lifetime Achievement Award.
