RAFFAELLA MANGIAROTTI
From Industrial Design to Emotional Objects
Raffaella Mangiarotti was born in Italy and trained as an architect and industrial designer. She co-founded Deepdesign, a Milan-based studio where she collaborates on projects that span from home appliances to furniture and furnishing accessories. Her philosophy blends minimalism with organic elegance, resulting in iconic products that are both highly functional and emotionally engaging.
Collaborations with Major International Brands
Over the years, Mangiarotti has worked with prestigious companies such as Samsung, Artemide, Whirlpool, Serralunga, and Barazzoni. For Serralunga, she created the poetic Bay armchair, a piece where sculptural rigor meets visual softness: perfectly aligned with her expressive vocabulary. She also designed lighting for Artemide and cookware for Barazzoni, always combining ergonomic precision and elegance.
Signature Aesthetic and Recognized Works
Her work is featured in the permanent collection of the Chicago Athenaeum and has been exhibited at the Triennale di Milano. In addition, her designs for brands like Atipico, Flos, and Smeg further showcase her talent for merging functionality with beauty. Mangiarotti's work has also graced pieces for B-Line, Coin Casa Design and KitchenAid, highlighting her versatility across a wide range of design disciplines. Her collaborations extend to La Pavoni, Mandarina Duck and Manerba, where she continuously blends innovation with timeless style.
Elegance that Resonates with Contemporary Living
Perfectly in tune with the aesthetic demands of today’s design-savvy audience, Mangiarotti’s pieces align with eco-conscious trends, offering sustainability without sacrificing sophistication. Whether designing a planter, a kitchen tool, or a piece of lighting, her goal remains clear: to create objects that resonate with users on a visual, tactile, and emotional level.
