Biography & Design Philosophy
Born in Nice in 1975,
Philippe Nigro studied Applied Arts and Product Design at La Martinière in Lyon and École Boulle in Paris. His early career was shaped by a significant collaboration with
Michele De Lucchi in Milan, where he participated in various projects encompassing product design,
furniture design,
lighting, and
interior decor. Nigro's design approach is characterized by a blend of prospective research and pragmatic appreciation of the "savoir-faire" of manufacturers. He seamlessly moves between projects of varying scales, collaborating with both well-known brands and local artisans. This fusion of French and Italian cultures is evident in his work, which often explores modularity and multifunctionality.
