
PAOLA NAVONE
Paola Navone is an Italian designer graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico of Turin in 1973. From 1975 to 1979 she worked as art director at the Centro Kappa in the projecting and developement department together with designers such as Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass Jr. and Andrea Branzi. Since 1979 she has cooperated with Abet, discovering her passion for decorations. Her long professional career involves architecture, design, furniture design, writing, art direction, teaching, organization of exhibitions and events, either for herself, or for selected clients, such as Armani Casa, Knoll International, Alessi, Abet Laminati, Piazza Sempione, Mondo, Driade, Orizzonti, Arcade, Oltrefrontiera, Casamilano, Antonangeli, Dada, Molteni, Natuzzi, Roche Bobois, Swarovski. She teaches industrial decoration at the faculty of Architecture of Reggio Calabria and surface design at the University of Florence. Among the several rewards that she has received, there are the International Design Award in Osaka in 1983, the Prix d’éxcellence of Marie Claire Maison in Paris in 1999 and in Cologne in 2000 she was proclaimed Designer of the year by Architektur & Wohnen.
