Krit Jiratkaruen: A Journey Through Design Cultures

Krit Jiratkaruen is a Bangkok-born designer whose creative journey bridges Eastern cultural richness and Italian design excellence. With a passion for form and emotion, he pursued his first Master’s in interior and product design at Accademia Italiana in Florence, graduating with honors. His path led him from Thailand’s vibrant commercial hubs like Asiatique The Riverfront and Mega Bangna (IKEA Thailand) to Europe’s high-design circles. Today, his work is internationally recognized for its balance between storytelling and modern design.

From Bangkok to Milan – A Global Perspective

After returning to Thailand, Krit Jiratkaruen worked as a freelance art designer on prestigious developments, including Toscana Valley. In 2013, he relocated to Milan and earned a second Master’s in industrial design at Domus Academy. The following year, he joined forces with ZEUS, working alongside Maurizio Peregalli as an industrial design assistant. His contributions have earned accolades such as the ZEPTER International Design Award and recognition from Gufram and Prior Thai. He then collaborated with Progetti, creating cuckoo clocks that perfectly balance creativity and culture.

Progetti and the Art of Time

His creative synergy with Progetti opened a new chapter, blending whimsy with precision in the realm of cuckoo clocks. Known for injecting playful narratives into functional design, Jiratkaruen introduced two standout pieces: the character-rich Progetti Peek-a-koo cuckoo clock and the soft, rounded minimalism of the Progetti Mochi Mochi cuckoo clock. These pieces have become icons of unique clocks that break conventions while honoring tradition.
