In the 1990s, he founded Studio Rari, where he began a fruitful partnership with the Ciatti family, resulting in the creation of CCR and later, Opinion Ciatti. In 2002, Rainaldi opened ENTRATALIBERA, a Milanese space dedicated to contemporary design. His innovative approach to design earned him accolades, including the Compasso d'Oro award for the Ptolomeo bookcase in 2004. Rainaldi's creative journey continued with Mussi, BBB, and Arkof Labodesign, until his untimely death in 2011.
