Achille Castiglioni gives Splügen Bräu an unmistakable architectural identity through a polished aluminium reflector shaped by rhythmic curves and precise changes of profile. Designed for indoor use, the Flos lamp directs light downward while its reflective Chrome surface amplifies the sculptural quality of the metal even when the fixture is switched off. A transparent protective finish preserves the polished appearance, allowing the suspension to work naturally above dining tables, kitchen islands, counters and hospitality settings where a compact fixture must still create visual impact. The Splügen Bräu polished metal pendant light feels simultaneously technical and expressive, pairing especially well with stone, timber, glass and textured surfaces that contrast with its smooth, highly reflective aluminium body.

A distinctive icon within Flos Pendants

As part of the Flos Pendants, the Flos Splügen Bräu pendant lamp transforms direct illumination into a focal point defined by proportion, reflection and material precision. Its polished aluminium reflector concentrates light beneath the fixture while the sculpted exterior interacts continuously with surrounding architecture, furniture and daylight. A white ceiling rose is included, and the 2.2 m cable provides flexibility when establishing the suspension height above a dining table, breakfast counter or kitchen island. The Splügen Bräu kitchen island pendant can be used individually for a more restrained composition or repeated across a longer surface to create rhythm. Its compact scale and confident silhouette make it equally compelling in private residences, restaurants, creative studios and boutique hospitality interiors.

Flos Splügen Bräu: polished aluminium shaped into light

The design reflects the material clarity associated with Flos, allowing aluminium, light and surface treatment to define the character of the object without decorative additions. The reflector is finished in Chrome and protected by a transparent coating, enhancing both its luminous appearance and the visual depth created by the articulated profile. Direct light makes the fixture particularly effective where illumination needs to be concentrated onto a table or counter, while the reflective metal introduces a brighter architectural accent above the space. As a sculptural aluminium pendant light, Splügen Bräu balances the precision of an industrial object with the refinement expected in sophisticated contemporary interiors, giving designers a compact yet highly recognisable element for both residential and contract projects.

Mid-century character in dialogue with Flos Ceiling lights

Used alongside Flos Ceiling Lights, Splügen Bräu can form part of a layered lighting scheme in which suspended direct light is complemented by quieter architectural illumination elsewhere in the room. Its polished surface and distinctive contour give the Splügen Bräu mid-century pendant light a strong historical character without limiting it to retro interiors; the design remains equally convincing within minimal apartments, refined dining rooms and modern hospitality spaces. Closely associated with Achille Castiglioni x Flos, the suspension demonstrates how a clear functional idea can acquire lasting visual relevance through carefully judged proportions and material honesty. Whether selected as a singular accent or repeated over a long counter, Splügen Bräu brings together direct illumination, reflective metalwork and enduring Italian design identity in a composition that remains expressive without becoming visually heavy.
