With its slender silhouette and carefully controlled light, the Flos Emi floor lamp is conceived as an architectural presence rather than a conventional freestanding fixture. Its aluminium and PMMA structure rises with visual precision, making the flos emi floor lamp particularly effective beside seating areas, in refined lounges or within hospitality spaces where lighting must contribute to the overall composition of the room. The result is a modern floor lamp that feels understated by day and becomes an expressive source of atmosphere when illuminated.
Emi distributes light in two directions, combining uplight and downlight to create a more layered perception of the surrounding space. Each emission can be controlled independently, giving users the freedom to adjust the balance between ambient and more focused illumination according to the setting.
Intuitive Control Built into the Design
Touch dimming sensors are discreetly integrated into the top of the central rod, keeping the controls accessible without interrupting the lamp’s clean geometry. The intensity can be regulated continuously from 1 to 100%, transforming this dimmable floor lamp from a soft evening light into a stronger architectural source with a simple gesture.
An integrated LED array and driver reinforce the streamlined construction, while the LED source can be replaced by qualified personnel when required. The 1.95-metre cable supports flexible placement throughout the interior. This Flos LED floor lamp can respond to different lighting preferences, from warmer residential atmospheres to more neutral professional environments.
Colour, Material and the Emi Design Language
The aluminium body is offered across the Emi palette in Deep Green, Deep Blue, Deep Red and Off White, allowing the family to interact with both restrained and more characterful interiors. Rather than behaving as a purely technical object, the flos emi floor design uses colour, proportion and light to establish a quiet but recognizable identity.
Developed by Erwan Bouroullec for Flos, this Floor lamp belongs to the Flos Floor collection and can be coordinated with the Emi Table collection to create a consistent lighting language across the same project. The relationship between the two formats is especially useful for architects and interior designers seeking visual continuity without repeating the same scale or function.
Designed for Sophisticated Residential and Contract Spaces
A versatile lighting solution conceived for design-conscious homes and sophisticated professional interiors, Emi adapts naturally to living rooms, executive spaces, hotel suites and carefully curated hospitality environments. Its combination of independent light control and refined construction gives the designer floor lamp both functional depth and decorative relevance.
The flos emi family reflects a contemporary approach in which technology is integrated rather than displayed. By bringing together directional flexibility, touch control and a restrained aluminium structure, the emi floor lamp offers a sophisticated solution for interiors where light is expected to define space as much as illuminate it.
