Martin Freyer was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1909, where he died in 1975. In his career he has devoted himself to countless different fields: from architecture to graphics (he is remembered among other things as the creator of the VW logo for the automotive company Volkswagen), from stage design to the design of fabrics and tapestries but he was also a photographer, a painter and a teacher. Among other collaborations he worked with Rosenthal from 1964 to 1974; the outcome of this period was various: the vase Sketch, the collections of vases Bisque, Relief, OP-Art, Mid-century and Trio of Kaiser, as well as the glass collection "Glasstruktur" consisting of glasses, bowls, vases, candlesticks and accessories.
