Some objects are so deeply rooted in collective memory that changing their scale alone is enough to transform their meaning. The Seletti x BIC lamp does exactly this, magnifying the legendary BIC® Cristal pen into a striking lighting piece that feels instantly familiar yet entirely unexpected. Designed by Mario Paroli for Seletti, this lamp pays tribute to one of the most widely used objects in the world, translating its unmistakable silhouette into a bold lighting design. The result is a playful but precise reinterpretation that turns an everyday tool into a sculptural icon, perfectly aligned with the expressive spirit of the Pendant lamps category.
Pop Design, Light Performance and Chromatic Identity
Crafted in durable polyethylene, the lamp faithfully echoes the proportions and details of the original pen at an impressive 12:1 scale. It is available in four instantly recognisable colours: red, blue, black and green; each referencing one of the classic BIC® Cristal versions and allowing the lamp to adapt to different interior moods. Equipped with an integrated 22 W LED light source, it delivers a powerful 2400 lumens output with a warm 3000 K colour temperature, ensuring both visual comfort and atmospheric presence. Powered by a 220–240 V ~ 50 Hz system and completed by a 3 m / 10 ft. cable, the lamp combines strong visual impact with reliable lighting performance. It can be used as a pendant, floor lamp or wall version, it naturally integrates within the broader Seletti lighting collection.
A Collectible Piece Between Lighting and Furniture
More than a lamp, this piece functions as a design object that bridges illumination and spatial character. Design enthusiasts searching to buy Seletti BIC lamp are often drawn to its ability to act as a focal point, whether suspended above a dining table, positioned in a living space or used as an accent in contract environments. Its sculptural scale and pop identity allow it to dialogue seamlessly with bold interiors and curated settings, aligning conceptually with the expressive attitude of Seletti furniture. The balanced Seletti x BIC lamp proposition reflects an accessible yet collectible approach to design, making it a favourite among those interested in iconic object lighting design and statement pieces.
