GIULIO CAPPELLINI
Giulio Cappellini is an Italian architect, designer and art director. Born in Milan in 1954, he has always lived surrounded by design, because his family’s company, Cappellini, which was inserted in 2004 in the fund Charme of the Montezemolo family, has been one of the actors of the Italian design. Graduated in architecture, Giulio Cappellini has taken care since the beginnings of the brands Cappellini and Poltrona Frau, caring about the products and gaining important rewards, such as the role of talent scout of young designers who were afterwards suggested to the company; examples are Jasper Morrison, Marcel Wanders, Bouroullec brothers and Marc Newson. The weekly review Time has included him among the ten trend setter of fashion and design. Today Giulio Cappellini not only works for his family’s company, he cooperates also as consultant and art director for companies with different core business, from Ceramica Flamina to Alcantare Spa, which is specialized in the use of Alcantara in the fields of automotive industry, fashion, accessories and design.
