FEDERICO DE MAJO

Federico de Majo was born in Venice. Thanks to the beauty and charm of the islands of Murano, his greatest passion was born: giving shape and colour to the glass. Because of his father's premature death, he had to take the reins of the family factory in Murano, which represented an international lighting brand. He was able to lead with passion and dedication the design and production department of the company, getting in touch with famous Venetian artists, from whom he was able to take inspiration for the creation of his collections. In 2001, the project of Zafferano brand was born, with the ambition to create an Italian brand of table objects for restaurants and for the house. In 2005, he returned to his first love: lighting; introducing Zafferano - Bespoke Glass Lighting division, indoor decorative lighting collection in coloured glass. Always looking for something new and never seen before, Federico de Majo is not tired of studying and researching design, the innovative experimentation of materials and shapes far from current trends.
