The architect Livio Castiglioni, born in Milan in 1911, founded together with the architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni a studio in which subsequently also the brothers Pier Giacomo and Achille collaborated. He designs and collaborates for several brands including Alessi, Artemide, Fontana Arte and Stilnovo. His son Piero Castiglioni, after graduating in 1970 in architecture, devoted himself almost entirely to lighting design and since 1972 he has been co-owner of the studio with his father. Their lighting fixtures are handcrafted in small series and among these, the most significant is the lighting system Scintilla. After his father’s death in 1979, new collaborators began working in the studio. Piero also collaborates with important lighting and home design companies such as Fontana Arte, Stilnovo, Metalspot, Venini, iGuzzini, Castaldi, Omicron, IBT Lighting, Platek.
