BELA SILVA
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1966, Bela Silva can still be considered a 'citizen of the world' because she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lisbon and Porto in Portugal, at Norwich Fine Arts in the UK and at the Art Institute of Chicago in the USA and explored all possible artistic disciplines. During her time in New York, she had the opportunity to illustrate articles for the New York Times, and later participated in group exhibitions in Belgium, Brazil, Spain, France and directed ceramics workshops in Japan and Morocco. She boasts prestigious exhibitions at the National Museum of Tiles (Museu do Azulejo), the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the National Museum of Ancient Art and the Palácio da Ajuda, and also various exhibitions in China and Japan. She has created several public works of art, produced in Viúva Lamego, such as tile panels for the Alvalade metro station in Lisbon, panels for the gardens of the Sakai Cultural Center in Japan and panels for the João de Deus School in the Azores Islands. Spazio Nobile will launch Bela Silva, Four Seasons, a collection of wearable and wall jewelry and has opened a new gallery and exhibition space with Bela Silva in the center of Brussels.
