STEFANO GIOVANNONI

Stefano Giovannoni was born in 1954 at La Spezia. He got his graduation in Architecture in 1978 in Florence where he takes up the teaching at Architecture faculty till 1991. He was also teacher of master at Domus Academy in Milano, at the Project University of Reggio Emilia and professor of Industrial Design at Architecture University of Genoa. In 1980 he won the first award at the “Shinkenchiku Residential Design Competition” with Kisho Kurokawa as judge and the competition for a Place at Santa Croce sull’Arno. His works are part of permanent files of Georges Pompidou centre in Paris and Moma New York. Many of his projects got the “Design Plus” at “Ambiente” Frankfurt Fair in 1994, 1996 and 1998, the “Hannover Forum Design” award in 1999 and they got selected at Compasso D’Oro ADI Milan in 1996 and 1998. Stefano Giovannoni designed products of big success among which “Girotondo” and “Mami” for Alessi, as well as “Bombo” for Magis.
