MICHEL BOUCQUILLON
Michel Boucquillon was born in Belgium in 1962. He studied architecture at the Saint Luc University of Brussels, where he graduated in 1986. His first experience in the world of architecture saw him working as an architect in Florence, where he stayed for two years. At the age of 26 he won “the Architecture of European Chamber” of the Brussels’ Parliament. This project smoothed his way into the design’s world: he designed handles for VALLI&VALLI and lamps for Technolux. In 2000 he set up his own product-design studio in Italy. In 2001 he represented Belgium at the international conference about design at the Montreal’s University. Among the wide range of prizes he has won, we would like to remember: in 2005 the “Design Plus” in Frankfurt, through the creation of the bath tub “Strip” for Aquamass; in 2007 the “Good Design” with the cutlery set, exclusively designed for Auerhahn. Today Michel Boucquillon works and lives in Tuscany (Italy), where he collaborates with the most prestigious brands, such as: Artemide, Aquamass, Auerhahn, Martinelli Luce, Serralunga, Technolux, Valli Arredobagno and VCR.
